At CARDV, we love our volunteers! CARDV volunteers provide the much needed support to keep our services free and confidential.

There are many opportunities to volunteer with CARDV. The most common opportunities are listed below. If you have an idea for how you would like to volunteer that is not listed here, please contact us and let us know. See our complete Volunteer Opportunities Booklet for more information.

Advocacy

Advocacy volunteers assist with every aspect of CARDV's work with clients. Opportunities include: answering the hotline, responding to crisis calls, assisting shelter residents, conducting support groups and more. The support of advocacy volunteers allows CARDV to maintain the highest level of service to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Event Volunteering

CARDV relies on volunteer support to put on many fund and awareness raising events throughout the year. Opportunities include 5K run/walk, spaghetti feed, parades, annual fundraising breakfast and more.

Administrative

Administrative volunteers assist with a variety of tasks in and out of the CARDV office. Opportunities include: data entry, serving as a receptionist, organizing and filing, cleaning, posting flyers, assisting with mailings, receiving and sorting donations, assistance with special event preparation, and more.

Board Membership

The Board of Directors manage the fiscal affairs of CARDV, supervise the Executive Director, assist with the coordination of public relations, program evaluation, and fundraising efforts.

Internship

CARDV offers personalized internship opportunities throughout the academic year. Internships are designed to meet the needs of both the student and the agency. Examples of internship positions include: community education, shelter-based advocacy, legal advocacy, fundraising and event coordination, research projects, community outreach and more.

Wish List Drive

CARDV depends on donations to provide our clients with the most basic necessities, such as: toiletries, towels, linens and other household items for our shelter. Wish list drives are a great way for groups or families to volunteer together.
